Justin was formerly appointed as Vice President and General Manager EMEA at iRhythm Technologies where he led the company’s rapid expansion and growth in the EMEA market.
In the UK, this role has included leading the company through NICE evaluation, when its Artificial Intelligence supported technology (Zio XT) became the first service and technology to receive a positive recommendation via NICE’s digital health technologies guidance pilot. His leadership also saw iRhythm become one of the first recipients of the NHSX AI in Health and Care Award in September 2020 with a single fund totalling 6.5m $. Justin has over 20 years of experience across a wide variety of roles in the medical technology sector across increasing Global responsibilities.
Prior to joining iRhythm Technologies, Justin held senior leadership roles at medical device companies across a number of disease areas in the UK, Europe and international regions. During this time he has introduced new and disruptive technologies into multiple market places, covering a variety of specialties including; Technology, Cardiology, Neuro, ENT, Trauma, Orthopaedics, Diagnostics, Diabetes, Pain Management, Women’s Health, Men’s Health and the high-tech operating environment, BioTech, including software as a service (SaaS), digital, consumable and capital equipment.
Following a period of global responsibility, in early 2010, Justin consolidated his experience and moved into the world of start-up and business turnaround, building an EMEA-wide sales and distribution base in the diagnostic arena. This experience resulted in significant knowledge of the HRG and payment systems and the diffusion of innovation in several of the major European and global health systems, more recently with specialised focus in the UK. He worked closely multiple senior stakeholders within the NHS followed through processes of economic and clinical mapping of entire therapeutic patient pathways and nuances of those pathways within the NHS and private sector.
Justin’s experience and level of knowledge and relationships within the NHS, Private markets, NICE and arms-length bodies including Govt and regional healthcare entities, innovation methodologies and barriers to adoption is varied and deep. He has unique insight into pre and post commercialisation processes, stakeholders and pitfalls. Justin consults and shares his experience with industry around the evaluation, commercialisation and adoption of disruptive and valuable patient-centric technology.
