End : 24 Jul 2009 - 13:00
With a budget of over €50 billion over seven years, FP7 is the European Commissions principle scheme to fund scientific research. For more information please click here
Though being aware of its existence, many small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) find it difficult to exploit FP7 research funding opportunities because of the time and effort involved in submitting a proposal. In order to survive they must concentrate on short term targets and so SMEs inevitably play less of a significant role in FP7 projects in comparison to larger organisations.
The aim of SM-BIO-POWER, an FP7 funded project, is to support SMEs to achieve greater participation in FP7 activities. The focus is on biomedical engineering and medical technology SMEs who the SM-BIO-POWER consortium also lobbies on behalf of at the European Commission level.
This workshop will be run by CENTRIM, University of Brighton as part of the SM-BIO-POWER Project. The purpose is to raise awareness of FP7 funding opportunities in the aforementioned sectors and to present the support services offered by SM-BIO-POWER. We will break through FP7 jargon and past participants in European research projects will be on hand to discuss their experience – Lunch will be provided.
Venue: SEEDA, Cross Lanes, Guildford, GU1 1YA
